Founder and President
Jonathan Moritz is the Founder and President of Moritz Development, LLC, a Pittsburgh-based real estate development and investment firm. A fourth-generation developer with over 20 years of experience, Jon specializes in land acquisition, entitlements, and luxury residential development. He is widely recognized for sourcing and executing high-impact land deals in Pittsburgh’s most desirable and rapidly growing communities, laying the groundwork for transformative residential projects.
Before founding Moritz Development, Jon served as Co-President of a regional homebuilding company, where he transformed the business into a top-tier builder known for design innovation, build quality, and customer experience. He revamped the product line with modern, market-driven floor plans, redefined the brand and sales strategy, and led major land acquisitions that expanded the firm’s footprint and solidified its position in Pittsburgh’s luxury housing market.
Jon holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from New York University, an MBA in Finance from DePaul University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Penn State. Recognized by Builder Magazine’s “40 Under 40,” he is known for his creative thinking, ability to solve complex development challenges, and commitment to transparency, integrity, and long-term relationships.
