Jonathan Moritz is the Founder and CEO of Moritz Development, LLC, a Pittsburgh-based real estate development and investment firm specializing in strategic land acquisition, entitlement, infrastructure planning, and the creation of transformative real estate projects.
A fourth-generation real estate developer with more than 20 years of experience, Jon has built his career identifying exceptional land opportunities and unlocking their highest and best use through thoughtful planning, disciplined execution, and long-term vision. He specializes in acquiring strategically located properties in high-demand markets and creating value through land strategy, entitlement, infrastructure coordination, financing, and execution.
His ability to anticipate market trends and solve complex development challenges has established Moritz Development as a trusted developer of premier communities and large-scale real estate opportunities.
Under Jon’s leadership, Moritz Development’s active residential portfolio exceeds $370 million in projected home sales. The firm’s flagship communities in Marshall Township include The Reserve at Marshall, a 170-acre luxury residential community featuring 121 estate homesites and projected to generate more than $250 million in home sales, and Marshall Pointe, a master-planned community featuring 172 townhomes and 22 single-family homes with projected home sales exceeding $120 million.
In addition to residential development, Jon is expanding Moritz Development’s focus on large-scale land and infrastructure opportunities that support the next generation of economic growth. The firm is actively assembling and positioning strategically located sites capable of accommodating hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and other infrastructure-intensive uses by aligning power, water, transportation, and entitlement strategies with the needs of institutional users.
Jon earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from New York University, an MBA in Finance from DePaul University, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University. He was recognized by Builder Magazine as one of its “40 Under 40” professionals in the homebuilding industry.
